Nothing wrong with the Onyx, it just offered literally nothing over the 2i2. Just get a Steinberg UR12, you'll be happy with that one! Given the fact that the budget is still a bit tight, so I'm not interested in going up to the next level of interface just yet, are there any features (or lack thereof) that would steer someone who's used both one way or the to top mention something negative about the Solo (no monitoring volume control? I can't remember). As is the Focusrite Scarlett Solo, but I seem to recall hearing George W. But I saw the Mackie Onyx Blackjack mentioned favorably in a different thread, so I looked into it, and it does seem like a good product. I'm upgrading (?) from my Apogee One/PreSonus TubePre, and I'd like to have a back-up (which the TubePre will become), so I was planning on getting a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
